found! a cure for cancer. Lost! common sense.
It doesn't matter what it is. It could be the freakin cure for cancer... conservatives will twist everything as "but that might encourage kids to have sex!" FUCK THAT. and FUCK YOU.
Some scientists have come up with a vaccine that may help prevent cervical cancer caused by HPV. You will note that cervical cancer only happens to women (duh) and this is where i get sidetracked into ranting about male scientists and stuff who push female medicine to the back burner... but this time i'm refusing the sidetrack.
because what i'm pissed off about is that they're saying that by curing HPV, it may encourage under-age sex. So, by effectively prevening 70% of cervical cancer, that will encourage under-age sex?!? by stopping ONE of HUNDREDS of STDS (and one of the lesser known STDs at that), we're encouraging kids to have sex? Cure HIV and AIDS. Then we'll have to chat about your tendency to believe that people who don't follow your moral code deserve to die horrible deaths. This, my friends, is why I don't do religion.
